This Week’s Meets

There are two meets this week: Howard County Relays tomorrow (1/25) and “Last Track to Philly” this Saturday (1/28).

The bus for Wednesday’s meet (Howard County Relays) will leave at 2pm. Please leave class around 1:45pm. Wednesday’s meet should run a little faster than usual, and we will likely return earlier (than the usual 10pm).

The bus for Saturday’s meet (Last Track to Philly) will leave Saturday at 7am. Please arrive a few minutes early.

County Champions!

Congratulations to both the boys and girls teams on an historic win on Friday at the Howard County Indoor Championships! Both teams won by a comfortable 30-point margin, which is phenomenal!

We would like to congratulate the individual and relay event winners: Paul Haley (55m Hurdles); Nate Gainey (500m Dash); Spencer Owens (Pole Vault); Brendan Chavis (Shot Put); Eric Dombrowski, Jackson Porter, CJ Miller, Nate Gainey (4x400m Relay); Michaela Wilkins (300m, 500m, AND 800m Dashes), Rachel Yep (3200m Run); Michaela Wilkins, River Williams, Taylor Williams, Julie Knorr (4x400m Relay). Additional congratulations go to all runners on great races.

FIVE school indoor records were also broken-Brendan Chavis: 45-03 (Shot Put), Nate Gainey: 1:06.93 (500m Dash), Karl Schmidt: 2:01.54 (800m Dash), Boys 4 x 200m Relay (Jackson Porter, Nate Gainey, CJ Miller and James Johnson): 1:34.62 and the 4 x 400m Boys Relay (Jackson Porter, Nate Gainey, Paul Haley and CJ Miller): 3:32.71. The records section will be shortly updated to reflect this and a few other records broken this season.

Thanks go to all our parents and alumni who helped to run the track meet. You guys were a great help and made sure everything ran smoothly and quickly!

Practice will be at 2:00pm on Monday 1/23 for all athletes.

Team Pictures

Team Pictures will be today Thursday 1/19 at 2:20pm in the gym. Practice will be held immediately afterward. If you have not yet received a picture order form, you can pick up one today from Coach Carter or get one at picture time.

Wednesday & Saturday Meets

The bus leaves for Wednesday’s meet at 2pm. Leave class at 1:45 pm.

The bus will leave for Saturday’s meet at 7 am. Please arrive around 6:45am. Be prepared for a long day! Heat sheets here.

Great job yesterday at the second meet of the season! Boys placed first with 110 points, and girls placed 5th with 39 points.
